This week we have been focusing on the Gospel Value of Love. We are learning to identify the importance of love in our lives and how we show it. Awesome work guys!!!!

Blindfold Madness

Here is a game we play where, in pairs, there is one student who is blindfolded and one student who is not. The student who is not blindfolded guides the other with their voice focusing on specific directions. The goal is to find as many scattered bean bags as possible. The game really helps the students to use specific instructions, listen and trust others. 

Jesus's Time in the Desert

 Room 2 have been learning about the history of Lent and also looked at Jesus's 40 days in the desert. For homework this week Room 2 have paired up to create a cartoon strip of Jesus's final days in the desert. Here are some of their cartoons. 

Matthew 4:1-11

Jesus Is Tested in the Wilderness

4 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted^[a] by the devil. ² After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. ³ The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”

⁴ Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’^[b]”
⁵ Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. ⁶ “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:

“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
    and they will lift you up in their hands,
    so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’^[c]”

⁷ Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’^[d]”

⁸ Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. ⁹ “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
¹⁰ Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’^[e]”

¹¹ Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him

Personal Profile

Room 2 have been building their personal profile's to display in the class. The Year 8's are really focusing on producing detail as it is nearly time to for their CV's to be worked on. Good luck Year 8's. 

My Face

Using an outline of a Maori Whakairo head, Room 2 used a range of words and pictures to create a face that represents who they are. Room 2 are putting a lot of effort into creating a face that is individual and a face that really shows the things that are important to them as well as their future goals. Ka pai to mahi!

What a big day! In groups Room 2 used Y Charts to identify what each Golden Rule Looked like, Felt like and Sounded like. What an awesome bunch of ideas that they come up with. Ka Mau te Wehi!!
